Path of Exile Item Upgrading

Item upgrading allows players to enhance their weapons and gear with new affixes, boosting its stats base or giving additional benefits. To upgrade items, players must have the item in their inventory and access the kiln.

Usually items that have weak bases (like rings) can be upgraded to a stronger base while items with strong bases like Eth titans don't change significantly in their stats after being upgraded.

Upgrade components

Upgrade components can be added to weapons, armors trinkets, weapons and gathering tools. They can be used as an attribute benefit, or an additional benefit, while the equipment is in use. They can be bought from vendors, found in loot, thrown away by enemies, or obtained as a reward for missions or chests. Certain upgrades come with additional cosmetic effects. Most upgrades require that the equipment be at a certain level before you can upgrade.

In order to upgrade a weapon or piece of armor, the player has to select it and then click the Upgrade button located in the toolbar. This will show a preview on the right side of the screen showing what the expected upgrade stats will be as well as the required element or material required to make that happen.

There are three kinds of upgrade components including universal upgrades, prefix upgrades and suffix upgrades. Universal upgrades, like gems, are able to be placed on any type of equipment. They provide a smaller bonus than upgrade components that are subject to a type restriction. Infusions, which can only be placed in ascended gear or legendary equipment are similar to jewels but have higher bonuses and are not able to be placed in any other type of equipment. Suffix upgrades that can be put in gathering tools, will add their names to the end of the name of the Best item upgrader they are attached to, for instance adding a Glyph to a Staff Wrapping of Minor Vigor would change it to a Canthan Staff Wrapping of Minor Vigor.

In the case of upgrades to gather tools, if a player replaces one glyph with another the previous glyph will be returned to the inventory. If you replace any other upgrade component, it will be destroyed, with the exception for the inscriptions, which can be swapped freely.

Leveling

Path of Exile's upgrade system is different from the previous versions in a few key ways. Gear is now broken down into tracks and items can only be upgraded a specific number of times before being "leveled out." The upgrade cost is increased with each level however, the materials needed aren't as high. This allows players to focus their efforts on a specific few items and maximize the impact of those items, rather than dispersing upgrade costs across multiple pieces.

Once an item has been completed, it will be eligible for an upgrade set of components, and an increase in the likelihood that the upgrade will succeed. This bonus is called the Artisan’s Energy and it resets to 0 if an upgrade fails or increases if the upgrade succeeds.

When a piece of equipment is upgraded to its highest level it is able to be given affixes that enhance its capabilities. The amount of affixes available will depend on the item upgrader kit's kind. For example an uncommon or exclusive weapon that has a standard base will only have two affixes, whereas a legend armor will have eight affixes.

Each upgrade step requires a certain number of Flightstones or Crests, based on the type of item at its current level and what slot it is placed in. Weapons will typically require more Flightstones than other equipment.

If an item does not get to its maximum level the NPC will offer players the option to transfer it to a different character and re-infuse it with a different set of upgrades. The process can take as long as two hours and costs the same amount of material however it will have a lower chance of success.

Engineers may employ a level to compare the height of the building with a known location, such as a benchmark. This is known as a "level loop." It involves taking readings using the level and backsight rod, then turning the level and making the foresight rod reading. This method makes sure that buildings are constructed to a high level of safety and accuracy.

Rerolling

Rerolling refers to the process of changing an item's upgrade components. It is a crucial aspect of the game and can boost an item's damage, strength or other attributes. This can be done via the menu for items or by pressing the Reroll button of an upgraded item. Rerolling items can be expensive and should be handled with care.

The game allows players to recycle upgraded items, which can be used to obtain Reroll tokens. These tokens can then be used to upgrade the original Best item upgrader or another similar item. Recyclable items have an indicator of level that indicates how much of the upgrade gauge has been filled. The rarity and cost of upgrading an item determines the level of filling.

Prior to this, certain upgrade item items were given priority affixes which made them easier for players to roll. This meant that you'd receive the most crucial stats to your build more frequently than others. This included things like the armor's total armor, thorns, and control impaired duration reduction stats or the weapon's bonus attack speed and critical strike chance.

This was changed with the recent patch. Priority affixes were removed, and all upgrades have the identical chance of rolling each statistic. This could be good or bad, based on what you're looking for and want from your equipment.

Each upgraded item can also come with a bonus that boosts the item's power by a fixed percentage or a flat amount. These bonuses are added to normal affixes. The more you upgrade your product, the higher your chances of receiving the bonus of a different kind.

The game also comes with various sets that offer a set-based bonus when three or more upgraded items from the same set are equipped on an Best item upgrader. This is a good method of giving an individual character more power without spending a ton of money.

Many players have the habit of rerolling their weapons and gear particularly in the beginning stages. Rerolling can provide a much faster path to a powerful character which allows them to achieve higher levels and advance in the game much more quickly.

Sets

Sets are groups of elements that can be arranged in various ways. They can have different sizes, have no elements at all or contain just one element. They can be utilized to organize data or organize information. They are also useful in analyzing patterns. Sets can be classified in various ways, including size and shape.

There are many set items available to upgrade in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. Some are worth upgrading, others are not. Upgrades are worthwhile for armor sets that offer high defense and set bonuses. However, upgrades to weapons typically don't improve the stats of the item when as compared to their counterparts in purple. This makes them less attractive to upgrade if your collection of armor and weapons pieces is already huge.

Set items can be upgraded to include specific functions that are beneficial for certain builds. Guillaume's Face face and Aldur's Advance boots are two examples of this. Both were upgraded from Exceptional Winged Helm and Exceptional Mirrored Boots respectively, boosting their defense by 217 to 321 (Strength requirement and Level requirement were increased as well).

Upgrades can also be done to bring certain items to parity with the tiers. The Immortal King Set, for instance, is a huge range of levels ranging from 29 to 75. Upgrades to lower-level items can improve their defense, and increase their competitiveness in terms of damage.

To determine if an item is worth upgrading, players can click the Upgrade button on their character screen. The item's attributes will be displayed, along with any required items. To upgrade the No-mouth face, for example, 1.1K Scrap Materials will be required, along with 250 Enchanted Dust and 5 Glowing Shards. Players can also check the upgrade requirements for specific items at the Cyrodiil Golden vendor or Leaderboard.

In general, armor and weapons are more valuable when fully updated. Upgrades to gold are recommended for weapons with weapons-damage or spell glyphs. This will result in a significant improvement in their performance. Armor that has an upgraded appearance will benefit from this upgrade because its defense will increase as it moves from purple to gold.
